Trump's White House Bid

Donald Trump's longshot bid for the White House continues to defy the odds. Now surveys in battleground states Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida show him tied or leading Hillary Clinton.
Part of Trump's resilience and mini- surge is the constant erosion of Hillary's popularity caused by the cancerous effect of the GOP's insincere but highly effective Email scandalette. Republican attack dogs have created an air of dishonesty about her that has been very effective in wearing down her public morality and credibility.
She and Bill have done themselves no favors, partuicularly when the former POTUS met with Attorney General Loretta Lynch on the eve of the FBI announcement that it would not be pursuing criminal charges against the former seceretary of state.
What was he thinking?
She will recover going forward. Her vice presidential pick will be important to reversing this corrosive counter-momentum. I still believe New Jersey senator Cory Booker would be the best person for the job. But it is going to be a slog.
Trump on the other hand can do a lot worse than to defy political wisdom and select Chris Christie as his VP pick. No one can out hustle or out debate the bulldog of the Garden State.
